Henry
In the third grade, under the tutelage of Miss McKinley, Henry and I became lifelong friends. We knew we were friends because we liked a dog, a donkey and a fishing pole. Together we walked along the back roads of yesterday. At times a dog trotted at our heels.
Henry talked a lot. He made people laugh. He never knew a stranger.
Today is Henry’s birthday. He would be 76 years old. Ten years ago, he went ahead to walk a new road.
There is still beauty in the world today because Henry and I walked together along those back roads of yesteryear.
Get to know Henry as you read my forthcoming book, short stories, and ebooks.

“Ten years ago, he went ahead to walk a new road.”
This is so ‘you’, Oris, gentle and profound, poetic and touching. Thank you for sharing yourself and some of Henry.
Mr. BB and I so look forward to your upcoming stories and e-books.

On those special days when I travel along the back roads of yesterday with my friend… We talk about mules, the simple times that used to be, and life. The life that goes beyond what we know and understand now, and the life that has come before. I’ve noticed tears, laughter and a heart spun of purest gold. But, most of all, I’ve noticed shared moments, profound, reluctant and sincere times of understanding.
We don’t walk these roads alone, and the back roads were meant to remind us… Thanks for sharing a memory.

If anyone happens to notice the header – please comment, I’d like to know if it meets approval.
There’s sure a lot of lookie lou’s on your site, Oris. Any idea who these folks are? Maybe they’ll buy your book!

Love the new header!!! Ole shy guy is getting…cuter…by the day!
Seriously, great picture Mr. George, attractive colors and writing on the header too.
Why doesn’t Ms. Verhoeff have an ad for blog designer/artist advertised on our web sites, shy guy? There’s certainly room on my site for such talent.
I hear you have a nostalgic e-book waiting for us in the wings around here somewhere….

You know, Danielle –
I never thought about posting an ad – I’ll have one posted later today.
Thanks for a great idea…

Oh you guys, don’t encourage Oris with saying he’s cute, and stuff! Ya know, his head just shrunk enough to get thru the door from the last time you guys praised him too much! And, how come it’s all us women on this site?? All us women, telling Oris how “cute” he is?? I think he has us snowed!
