A Twinkle of Time Along the Back Roads of Yesterday

Time is a fascinating subject for me. As a blogger I check Wordtracker.com for keywords when I’m doing an article.  Keying in various forms of the word time showed an interesting pattern today, a kind of metaphor that I see in my friend Oris George as he writes Along the Back Roads of Yesterday.

The words first time had 3,378 hits; current time had 1,448 hits; right now had 542 hits.  Hmmm.  It would seem that the first times of our lives are more important than the ‘right now‘s’ of our lives, and we won’t even look at the last time because that only rated 11 hits.

Oris mentioned that he will use the phrase “A Twinkle of Time” to introduce a series of excerpts from his upcoming book here on his site in the near future.  It touched me deeply.  As a senior citizen myself, time matters -a lot, so this idea of his draws me in to his arena of reverie.

Who we were in our youth is paramount.  How were our “first times” during the early years?  Were they memorable?  Did they leave footprints that remain as clear as day?  They did for Oris; he has an unending collection of reveries along his ‘backroads‘ that make you laugh, cry, and most of all…bring you back to a time when life gave us constant ‘hits’.  Yet, our yesterdays – if we think about it in the larger scheme of things – were really only a “Twinkle of Time’.

Stay tuned here for Oris‘s upcoming reverie about his Twinkles of Time.  You won’t want to miss a word!   We’re waiting Mr. George.  I’m sure you are aware that…time is money!
(PSSST; Oris…Money gets 33,644 hits, my friend)

A Twinkle of Time… What an appropriate heading for the glimpses Oris (can I call you Orie, it just makes you sound so cute and adorable) presents in his short stories.

Just to up the anti on those short stories and your debut Book Proposal, I’m thinking we should probably start promoting it now, while you’re still putting them together. We could start sending traffic your way so the pressure is on… It would be dynamic. I think I know a couple of twitter pals who would help me out with piling on the pressure. I suspect one of them will even help us add comments and keep this site lively. The other one seems a bit shy about posting here… LOL

Tanya,

Oris sent us your picture; so glad to now have a face to connect to your words here. (I can see why your husband chased you…till you caught him!!) Your smile is contagious!

Hope you are feeling better today??

Take care.

Hi Tanya,

Probably no, on the puppy. Particularly considering our surprise “boarders” in the second-floor apt!

See what you started Oris!! We bb’s had NO intention of ‘land-lording’. You probably sent over Elmer Coyote or Jon L. seagull to announce our accommodations over here at Hasty Acres. Thanks a lot! Knowing how vengeful you can be, this was probably payback for poking you with “family tales”. Okay Mr. George…TAG, you’re it!
