Christmas – Fun times…

It’s that time of year again when memories are made at the Oris George Mansion. There’s just something special about a snack around the table, editing a Christmas story and Patsy’s hot chocolate that brings to mind a roaring fire and the warmth of family and friends. All are welcome there.

Advice from the Coyote Brothers

This morning I found this note slipped under my kitchen door. Mr. Reed, we are concerned about you. We do not see any little kids visiting your home. We have observed you live in a childless home. Can you honestly confess you’re not completely sure of what children are like, march yourself (if you have [...]

A note from Elmer coyote

Elmer Coyote has been kinda quiet the last few weeks. This is a note from him I found on my kitchen door this morning. Sounds to me like he’s learning a few things about life. “Needless to say, the most obvious juxtaposition of opposites is simply a man and a woman.  No one has ever [...]

Mother’s kitchen range

Note: This photo was taken by Oris George of his wood-burning heating stove. Inside, behind the glass, the fire flashed and light flares through the glass and travels out through the room. While doing dishes this morning, I listened to the snap and crackle of cedar wood burning in the wood-burning heating stove. My memory [...]

Note from the Coyote Brothers

Last week’s blizzard dumped snow. Then along came a strong north wind which piled snow in deep drifts and left the ground bare in other spots. This morning I found a note fastened to the kitchen door. It was from the Coyote Brothers, Elmer and Melvin. The blizzard messed up life in the Coyote community. [...]

Enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving! From [...]

Book Trailer for Oris George

Sometimes the opportunity to meet someone arises and you just have to take a leap of faith. Building a business online connects one to a whole rift of people you might never have met otherwise, right in your own neighborhood. Such it is with Miss Kimberlie King, who created the video trailer for my book [...]

varity is contrast

Variety is contrast–strips of chrome on a black limousine. Somehow, to think visually even further, the human eye is fascinated by extreme black and white–scotch, a skunk,  zebras, newspapers, and a curious magpie on our woodpile this brilliant fall morning in southeast Colorado.

A peaceful morning

What a grand morning it is. I awoke to the pre dawn, alive with the happy chatter of birds telling stories in the cottonwood trees south of the house. The mourning doves are in full throat. Mr. Meadow Lark is on the job atop the power pole.
